At work we have to change our password every month or so. I'm not sure on the actual time window but it feels like four to six weeks. I am, however, absolutely certain about my strength of will, fighting the urge to just go home when I turn on my computer and it asks me "Your password will expire in 14 days. Do you want to change it now?" and I know that it's starting again.

Every day thereafter it will ask me, and I'll turn it down, since succumbing to the request will just move up the date when I'll have to do this whole thing again. Sure, this may sound like no big deal to you, dear reader, but it's not as simple as picking a new word or alternating between two or three passwords. I've tried that one. My computer popped a window up that said:

"The password supplied does not meet the minimum complexity requirements. Please select another password that meets all of the following criteria: is at least 6 characters; has not been used in the previous 4 passwords; must not have been changed within the last 1 days; does not contain your account or full name; containing at least three of the following character groups: English uppercase characters (A through Z); English lowercase characters (a through z); numerals (0 through 9); Non-alphabetic characters (such as !, $, #, %). Type a password which meets these requirements in both text boxes."

Wouldn't seeing that make you want to go home?

I have to change my password frequently at my job too. I've been through three in almost a year. You job must have more security issues than mine. Perhaps your work is more important than mine...
My last password was "fancypants".

Married? Good.

Happy? Good.

Graveyard? Good.

etc.? That's really cool.

I was thinking about you when I heard that Ben Folds song again. I'm still single but I blame society for that. Everything else rocks, though. I'm distracted by bright shiny things CONSTANTLY. SoCal's pretty nice, all in all.

You still in Loose-y-Anna?

Yo yo. My email doesn't send me the stupid reply things, so I had to actually TYPE IN THE ADDRESS in the address bar. I know, evil, right?

Um, yeah, society is awful. I wouldn't be married right now if I hadn't gone crazy. Which is odd, if you think about it. :P I remember thinking I'd never, ever get married. Whereabouts are you in SoCal? You know that's where Baron was raised and lived until Loser-ana. :) He was in Fullerton, Anaheim, etc.

We're still in Loser-Ana. But, in all honesty, we've been looking at houses in Sacramento and contemplating moving up there in a couple of years. His mom and sister live there, the house prices aren't THAT bad (compared to SoCal), and there are more opportunities for me there.

I'm making $6/hr for a really hard job with a lot of responsibility. I don't even get benefits. That doesn't sit with me well. Especially since they have to stick a needle in me once a year just so I can work there. Yeah, I should get extra pay JUST for facing up to my fears about needles. o_O

Baron is making quite a bit of money in Loser-Ana, but he could make even MORE in Cali. So, yeah, lots of reasons to go. It's just hard for me to branch away from Mom.

My brother quit college after 4 1/2 years. You know he was going to be a high school band teacher. Well, erm, he's a welder like my Dad now. He actually works in my Dad's shop. Odd how things work like that. He's much, much happier.

Are you still working in TV? :D Oh, my AIM name is mrsbaronee. I'm on there every once in a while. Feel free to say hizorz!

I'll AIM for you! Yuk yuk yuk!

Sacto is much closer to my old home, Chico, where I first was when I met some girl online named KitKat. It's like an hour and a half north of California's capitol, and most of my immediate fam is up there. The rest (my bro) is in Vegas.

I say make the journey! I can stick my head out the window on my way up to visit my folks and say hi to you.

If you have satellite, you can get ReelzChannel. It's a cable channel about movies. We don't play movies, we talk about them. Tell about the daily movie news, show new trailers, let people know about movies that didn't get the play they deserved, all that. Anyway, it's where I work, in the same building where they shoot Numb3rs and other shows/movies. There's scene(s) in Die Hard 4 where they evacuate the people from the "FBI building". That's my work environ!

Tell Sir Baron (can a baron be knighted?) that I'm right downtown, but just on the other side of the 110 from all the real action. I can see the Hollywood sign from my window!

hehe Yeah, AIM is nice at times. It's the only way I can keep up with old friends. Which is what I've been doing since I've been getting back on the internet. Well, that is, there's only 3 people I wanted to speak with, and you were one.

And, I remember when you lived in Chico. :) That's another plus about moving to Sacramento, after knowing you for about 5 years, you can finally say hi in person! And, you'd get to meet my fine, upstanding young man. heh heh He's about to turn 30, by the way. I pick on him for "robbing the cradle".

I don't have a satellite. I don't even have cable! We're not big fans of TV in the house. We play World of Warcraft, so we usually spend most of our time on the computer... questing together, etc. I'm off all weekend (yay 3 days!), so that's probably what we'll be doing for a while. :D If you ever do try the game, let us know!

You know, I'm not sure if a baron can be knighted. I guess I oughta Google it. Isn't that the answer to everything? :P I'll have to tell him where ya live now. He lived right around the block from Disneyworld... land? Whichever one is in SoCal. I've always gotten them mixed up, and he always corrects me. Hah!

I'm going to look up your channel and see if there's a way to watch online. Is there? I'd like to check it out. Do you actually get to go on air, or are you more behind the scenes? I'd like to be on TV, but being gigantor, I wouldn't want to put my fat ass on the TV. It'd be like attack of the fatzilla and no one would be able to see anything but my butt.

xD

I found out why I always felt bad years ago. Thyroid problems in combination with severe arrythmia. I... can't even spell my own condition. Oh well. :P

Um, anyway, novel much? I'm boring. ^^

Actually, speaking of novel, I'm dedicating my November to NaNoWriMo. I actually need to get started tonight because I'm a day behind. But it's at www.nanowrimo.org if you want to check it out. To get a gold star I have to complete 50,000 words in a month. It's going to be a story about how the U.S. Constitution's been changed to add a requirement for President that he/she has to have a valid driver's license. In the world where rich people get driven around and celebs get DUI's, this particular fictional Prez doesn't have a license. It's the story of him trying to get one to get re-elected. Partly. I'm sure there will be more to the story.

I can't think of a better reason to try my hand at WoW. In December, though. I'll correspond with y'all in the meantime I'm sure, and later to get set up once I can devote time to it.

Wow, I'm going to have to check that NaNoWriMo thing out myself. :) And, I love the story idea. I want to read it when it's finished. :P I can't get enough of reading still (after 26 years of it), and I'd love to read something an actual friend of mine wrote.

And, yeah, we're a good reason to start WoW. :P Baron is more of a loner on there when I'm not on, but when I'm on, I usually like to be in a group. I have some pretty high level characters on certain servers that can help you out, too. :) December will be a good time to start. Lots of Christmas events going on in the servers. :P

And, I'll be headed to the website so I can check out the snippets. And, the whole "through the floor thing" is funny, because we were at Walmart, and I noticed all of the sudden that the spot I was standing in was kind of cracked looking and dipped down into the ground. I know it was like that when I stepped into it, but I didn't think anything of it until I looked down.

When I looked, I suddenly got a REAL fear that I was going to actually fall through the floor at WalMart. :P I've put on about 100 pounds since I met Baron. He's a feeder. So, now I have these wonderful fears about breaking chairs, floors, couches, benches, and other things that are sittable... onable. :P

I added amalgam47 to my AIM list. Was that the right name? My memory isn't what it used to be. Well, I guess it is, because it's always been really bad.

Oh, um, there's snippets of shows and stuff online (www.reelzchannel.com) but I'm not in front of the camera. Face for radio, that sort of thing. And if the camera puts on pounds, I'd be afraid I'd break through the flooring.
